About School

The School is run by the Sisters of the Franciscan Clarist Congregation under the patronage and guidance of Rev. Dr. Franco Mulakkal, the Bishop of Jalandhar.

Special emphasis is placed on the national virtue of truthfulness, honesty, politeness, simplicity and self-discipline. Manual arts and intermingling with others especially the less fortunate are the aspects of Assumption Education. The medium of instruction is English. Hindi as National Language is taught from Std....? The pupils are prepared for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (I.C.S.E.) Examination taken at the end of Xth class. This Examination is recognised by the Government of India as equivalent to the Matriculation Examination.

ASSUMPTION, the concept

The School is dedicated to and placed under the Heavenly Patroness, the Blessed Virgin Mary and mother of Jesus Christ the word incarnate. Her ascension to heaven and assumption as the queen of heaven and earth is celebrated as a great celestial event and is termed as ‘Assumption’. Hence the name Assumption Convent School. The feast of Assumption falls on 15th August famously coinciding with the Independence Day of India.
